Maybe Staying at the Crowne Plaza Resort Los Cabos Grand Faro??
Hi! My fiance and I are getting married in September of this year and we were thinking of going to Cabo. We found this resort that has absolutley beautiful pictures, but we are unsure if this is a right fit for us. We wanted to go some place “tropical” but want to avoid the possibility of a hurricane ruining our honeymoon, so Cabo here we come!
We’re 28 & 31 so we’re not into full on partying, but would want the option to partake in some fun nightlife. I’d like to plan a few fun things during the day such as scubadiving or snorkeling, maybe some parasailing.

Hola. I live up the street from the Crowne Plaza. You are right, it is beautiful. But we are not tropical lush here, we are dry desert. Still hot and sunny. I was just up in their tower overlooking the beach the other evening, watching the sunset and having drinks….its a spectacular view up there!
I’ve lived through storms and hurricanes down here each year. They really aren’t a big deal. You may have 1 or 2 days of rain….but it won’t ruin your holiday. Also, the hotels have a contingency plan in place to deal with hurricanes. We also get almost a weeks warning, so that is helpful when deciding whether to stay or go. My friends and I get together and hunker down, drink and play cards. Some of us even go down to check out the surf. I’ve only been inconvenienced twice after all these years. No power and roads washing out, but everything is repaired fast.
Your ages are perfect for the Crowne Plaza. They have entertainment and bar but its not crazy like downtown Cabo. The town you are staying in (called San Jose del Cabo) is quaint and quiet. There is live jazz and occasionally the odd band but the nightlife here isn’t crazy. Most people just enjoy a great dinner out and shopping and going to the art district.
You can take taxi/shuttle to Cabo (20 mins away) if you want to dance on tables etc. Cabo wabo, giggling marin and el squid roe are great for this.
Snorkeling can take place in the bays of Santa Maria or Chileno. You can actually catch a bus to get there…or taxi or go on a tour group. There is ATVing, zip lining, surfing, whale watching, parasailing, swimming with dolphins…..you won’t run out of activities to do. Ask the conceirge at your resort for help arranging this!
